Frusterated!!!
Volume 2 of my new car story!
So Thursday i was hanging out with Curtis and we were on our way back from Sportsman's Warehouse driving along 900 East when i shifted into fourth gear, the engine seemed to rev a little high. I figured maybe i had just hit the gas a little hard and had caused it to over-rev. Curtis asked me if i thought the clutch was slipping, and i told him i wasn't sure but i didnt think so.
Friday night, Daren and I were driving back from Mom and Dad's and Daren was driving my car. We were headed North on Redwood Road just cruisin along all normal like, when Daren went to shift into 4th. once again it revved up all by its lonesome, and again when he shifted it into 5th. Takin off from a light it also started to slip in 2nd and 3rd. By the time we got back to Daren's house the clutch smelled sooo burnt. I determined i would take it in Monday to have it looked at and ceased to really worry about it, until i started my drive home. Then it was still overrevving but as long as i didnt push it too hard, it seemed to shift fine with minimal resistance shifting gears.
Saturday night i was driving down to South Jordan to meet Daren to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and as i got in my car i had a feeling like maybe i should drive my old car instead of the new car. I blew it off thinkin why would i drive my old car when i just paid for a brand new one. The clutch shouldn't go that fast...right?
So i'm getting on the freeway when it starts to over rev shifting into 2nd and 3rd on the freeway on ramp at 5300 South. by the time i shifted into 4th there was absolutely no acceleration power and i could get my car up to 60 mph. I felt like i should probably get off at the next exit seeing as how i could barely hold freeway speed, (which in my car the normal problem is staying within a legal speed limit). I got off on I-215 and as i came up on the state street exit, i was just hoping and praying that i would be able to shift into 1st gear. i was able to get to Fashion Place Mall when the clutch completely went. I was stopped in the driveway by Nordstom's completely unable to shift into any gear with zero resistance on the clutch. After repeated tries i was able to shift into 1st and baby it to a decent parking spot where i felt like i could safely leave it.
OOOOHHH i was MAD!!! I had my car for 2 weeks and already the clutch was gone! I'm thinkin, "Gol! I'm gonna miss my movie, now i have to freakin walk home. I just laid my head on the steering wheel and hollered!!! FREAKIN GRRRR!!!!
After i gathered my wits about me, I called my emergency roadside assistance number for them to come and tow my baby back to the dealership, thank goodness i got the additional warranty that would at least cover that cost of that.
Then i called Daren to tell him that i wouldn't be able to make it to the movie. He asked me if i wanted a ride, and i was like "Oh, yeah. That would be bueno!" I figured i was just gonna have to walk my sorry self home...so being offered a ride made me super happier than i was.
Daren had said maybe the hydraulic fluid levels for the clutch were low, so i popped the hood to see if i could find the resivoir to check it when the mall security dude showed up. He pretty much stated the obvious, "Looks like your having car trouble." Well, No Duh! My car wouldnt smell like freakin burnt toast if it weren't having troubles. He continued to say, "Well, my guess is that there's something wrong with your engine or your brakes." "Its the clutch, actually," I told him. He continued to say, "Well, if i were you i would have it towed to the nearest Subaru dealership and have them fix it." I'm just standing there thinkin, "Thank you, Captain Obvious! Would you please go away?"
So Daren came and met me down at the mall, and waited with me for the tow truck, which apparently was given a wrong address, cuz the driver called and said he had found my car, i was like, "um, i dont think so cuz i'm standing right by my car and i dont see a tow truck anywhere..." but that miscommunication extended our wait for another 35 minutes, and by the time the tow truck got there i was purty well tuckered out and cold. I was sooo sad when they put my purty car on that big ole flat bed truck. I was this close to bawlin my eyes out < >...
So makin a long story short, clutch went out, car got towed. Who knows from here whats gonna happen. Thats pretty much the story of my poor poor baby...
